The two jackals take them to dangerous places on purpose, from cliff side with falling stones to valleys filled with poisonous grass, but still fail to drive them away. At this moment, the feather plucker dresses up as a goshawk and shows up. He says he can lead them to find the bird and they set off. On the way, the feather plucker deliberately separates them and takes Carly and Vick into a dangerous quicksand. The bear brothers realize it may be a trap so they head back. They injure the feather plucker and save Carly and Vick.
